The Invisible New Yorkers photo project was born of my own personal experience of feeling invisible while roaming the streets of New York for so many years.

I met all types of folks that live in the margins of society-the elderly, young, mentally challenged, poor, middle class and even old friends. But one thing we all shared, our common gene, was our secret aspirations. Through the Invisible New Yorkers project, I hope to give the invisible and voiceless a voice. They shared their innermost thoughts and feelings through their words and drawings in my black books that are accompanied by an instant portrait of them.
